Happy Moments

It is very important for each one of us to know that happiness comes from within and not because of someone or something happened to us.

It all begins with what one thinks of himself. It all begins with our own mentality, what we think and what we believe in. But what happens when we believe in all the above; however, we can’t see it because of the burdens of life.

And, because of all the issues we have to deal with whether at home or at work; and the responsibilities we have got. So, all we think of is to finish the tasks on our schedule to get some rest by the end of the day. But then, where is the joy of life? Actually to put it more accurately, where is living? Yes, among all these responsibilities and tasks we forget to live. And then we complain that we are not happy, and that we can not find happiness.

“Don’t rely on someone else for your happiness and self-worth. Only you can be responsible for that. If you can’t love and respect yourself – no one else will be able to make that happen. Accept who you are – completely; the good and the bad – and make changes as YOU see fit – not because you think someone else wants you to be different.” – Stacey Charter

Well, because we are working on all these tasks just because we have to; not because we want to. We have mixed the wants and the needs. We stopped doing what we want because we are busy doing what we need. I can’t believe that the needs can take all our time, and that we can’t find one moment, only one moment, for ourselves to do what we want and what makes us happy and fill us with joy and contentment.

Guess what? I always make sure to find these little moments for myself. And, I’m so grateful for that. How, you ask? Well because I believe if I’m happy then I will have a happy family and happy friends. I believe that happiness is contagious. So, if I’m happy, I can spread happiness. And most importantly, my little one will be happy.

So, for this Friday, I want to express my gratitude to this little moment I steal from my busy schedule to myself. I read a book, I take a nap, I write or just take a walk; anything that makes me happy.

I’m blessed to have those little moments that make me happy and able to spread happiness. This might sound nonsense to you; but to me these little moments, fill me with contentment. After that I come back to my daily routine recharged and refreshed.

Have a blessed Friday and appreciate those little moments of happiness.
