You Are What You Think

I don’t understand why some people enjoy spreading negative vibes and being pessimistic. As soon as you ask them “how are you?” and the list of “complaints” start!

“Oh the weather is too hot today!”,

“why is it always raining?”,

my children don’t listen to me!”,

I got a lot of work to do, and so little time”,

“I had enough of this job and the manager”…. and the list goes on.

I mean, come on… life is far more than just your problems and complaints. Because you don’t get those problems, unless you have done something wrong! And, the easiest way to attract dilemmas is by thinking of them!

If you don’t like something, then simply change it. But if you can’t change it, then try to live with it; adjust yourself with it. Complaining about it won’t change anything anyway; it will just make your life miserable –and the life of people surrounding you!

I know everyone goes through problems from time to another. That is life, it has downs, and it has ups… But why focusing on the downs and the problems only, when you can sit and start thinking on how to fix and get over those obstacles…!

And when you think about it, it is way easier to be optimistic and think positively than being pessimistic… Being pessimistic consumes a lot of energy and it has been proved that it affects the health and causes anxiety, stress, and depression, which also lead to physical anguish.

I believe everything, even the problems and difficulties; have a good side and bad side. After all, everything happens for a reason. It is sometimes hard to look at the bright side of a problem when you are going through one. And it is totally acceptable to be sad and down for awhile because it is human nature. If we didn’t feel sad, we wouldn’t know the meaning of happiness. However, if you are facing a difficulty, that doesn’t mean it is the end of the world. Because I know that there is no problem without a solution.

Plus, as I said, there must be a reason behind those hard times we go through. Sometimes it can be a wakeup call. Or, it can be a time for creativity to burst out. For example, I have a friend who is an artist. And every time she goes down and feels sad and angry she starts painting. And the funny thing is that her paintings during the sad mood and full of anger are the Best!

You can be what you want in life. You can choose how to act toward the difficulties in life. It is all in your hand to treat yourself good or bad. It is all up to you to surround yourself with positive people to rise you up or with negative people who will keep you at the same place or maybe even drag you down.

As they say “you are what you eat”, it applies on your attitude and mind too.. You are ‘what you think’ you are.. If you think you are a loser and you will never be anything in life, then this is who you are. If you think you don’t deserve any good things in life, then that exactly what you will get. However, if you think you are a winner, and you act that way, and think positive, then that will define you. Our life is simply a reflection of our thoughts.

  1. This is very true. You’re definitely what you think. How can you be positive if you’re always thinking negatively?
